Eryn LoebI’m a writer and editor living in New York City, with too many books.

My writing has appeared in The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, Bookforum, Time Out New York, Poets & Writers, The Awl, The Forward, The Rumpus, The Millions and Bitch Magazine, among other publications. For five years, I wrote the “Girl, Interrupting” column for Bookslut, taking a monthly-ish look at how feminism lives (and dies) on the page. I also used to write a column about nostalgia for The Faster Times—now I’m working on a book about it. I’m a contributing editor for Tablet Magazine.

I have an MA in Journalism from NYU’s Cultural Reporting and Criticism Program, and a BA in Women’s & Gender Studies from Rutgers University. Depending on the day, I can talk you into, or out of, pursuing either of these degrees yourself.
